TEACHER INFORMATION
Jennifer Burrows is a certified teacher with a bachelor’s degree in piano performance. She is currently an independent instructor teaching at various locations. She has performed throughout the Bahamas and United States and has played for the CAAC ballet classes. She has also worked as a pre-K music instructor with the number one rated music enrichment program in the nation. She has taught music education, choir and band in public school for 3 years and taught private piano lessons for over 10 years. She is currently playing for Ivy Memorial Baptist Church and working in the music industry on Music Row.

COST OF LESSONS
Varies depending on location: $20-30 per ½ hour.
TIME COMMITMENT:
Lessons last ½ hour for ages 4-10 at 11 students may audition for an hour lesson. Students are expected to practice ½ hour every day for at least 5 days out of the week
ENROLLING FOR LESSONS
A signed statement indicating intent to attend the entire session period will be required in every student’s situation. Sessions are to be paid in two month or eight week increments


regardless of attendance. Students starting mid-session will be credited for lessons missed prior to becoming a student but will be accountable for all lessons after enrollment. There is no enrollment fee and no additional charges. Books can be purchased through Jennifer Burrows or at any local music store at the list price for the books.
MISSED LESSONS
Make up lessons will be offered the month of a missed lesson at no additional charge. Lessons made up after the month of the missed lesson will be at an additional cost of ½ of a standard lesson cost. Makeups will only be available as opportunities arise for makeup’s to be scheduled. If the situation does not lend itself to such a case then the lesson will be missed due to student availability, there will be no credit and no refund for this lesson. These makeup lessons will only be available in the session the lesson was missed.
PAYMENT POLICY
Lesson payments are expected in 2-month increments. The year will be divided into three parts. Mirroring the school schedule there will be a fall session from approximately September to December, there will be a Winter session from January to May, and there may or may not be a summer session depending on student involvement. Each session varies in length and will be announced prior to the session start date. Ending lessons will only be allowed at the end of a session to instill a sense of commitment and responsibility in all children involved. Any past due amounts will result in a discontinuation of lessons until the account is brought back to current.

SCHEDULING YOUR LESSON
Lessons are available on a first come first serve manner, however if a time slot is not immediately available it is important to put in writing your interest so that you can be placed on a waiting list for that time slot. You can use this information sheet to turn in and be placed on the waiting list. Often times lessons may be moved throughout the year because of a students involvement in sports or other activities that might be in conflict with their existing scheduled lesson therefore the lesson might become available once again. These times may or may not be available or even offered, but you will be contacted if any changes occur and offered that slot based on the time you selected.
CURRICULUM
Students will be asked to follow a step by step instruction plan using lesson books by either the John Thompson’s Piano Course or the John Schuam’s method.
SPECIAL FEATURES
Jennifer Burrows would like to be sure and offer the very best in education. There are DVD recordings of recitals and lessons available for additional purchase for those students who might desire a little extra edge.
A NOTE FROM THE TEACHER:
I am planning on another recital this Spring in May 07 and would like volunteers to organize and plan for the decorations and refreshments of this recital.
